International Fight Week

Hi Guys & Girls

So, Shark Week has come to a close. Boooooooooooo! Shark Week is of course a dream for shark fans like me. My favourite moment is probably the crazy dude trying to keep a swarm of Great White Sharks out of his cage with its flimsy broken door.

But alas, as one week ends another begins. This week is International Fight Week and the UFC are doing it in style!

If you are an MMA fan you are or should be super excited! My personal favourite is Diego Sanchez vs Joe Lauzon (I’m predicting blood). But there are so many fights I want to see or at least have a passing interest in.

We kick things off tonight with the final episode of the Ultimate Fighter Season 23. 2 fights, Khalil Rountree vs Josh Stansbury (the winner will fight Andrew Sanchez in the finale) and Tatiana Suarez vs Kate Jackson (the winner will fight Amanda Cooper). Barring something special my fight of the season is gonna go to Helen Harper vs Lanchana Green.

Tomorrow we begin the warm up with UFC Fight Night: Alvarez vs dos Anjos. The co-main is between “The Black Beast” Derrick Lewis and Roy “Big Country” Nelson. Derrick has been on a run recently and is looking good value, Roy is a step up in competition though. I love “Big Country”, so I’m hoping for a Roy Nelson KO. Outside of that the main event between Eddie Alvarez and the Lightweight Champion dos Anjos should be good value.

Friday is the Ultimate Fighter Finale. TUF was finished a few months ago, so what we see on tonight’s episode is done. I’m intrigued by who will win the men’s and women’s TUF titles. I’m hoping it’s Amanda Cooper and whoever won out of Josh and Khalil.

Also on the card is UFC debutant and Former Bellator Lightweight Champion Will Brooks. He is taking on Ross Pearson. Ross is usually up for a scrap so it should be a good one. Then the big one Claudia Gadelha vs the champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk. I’m really hoping for “And New!!!!!”.

Then finally on Saturday, UFC 200. There are soooooooo many fights that intrigue me, I’m not gonna go into too much detail, I’m just gonna simply list them. Diego Sanchez vs Joe Lauzon, Cat Zingano vs Julianna Pena, Jim Miller vs Takanori Gomi, Cain Velasquez vs Travis Browne, Frankie Edgar vs José Aldo, Miesha Tate vs Amanda Nunes, Brock Lesnar vs Mark Hunt and Jon Jones vs Daniel Cormier.

If you are an MMA fan this is the stuff that dreams are made of. What fight are you mostly looking forward to?

Carpe Diem Guys
